About the Role

The Department of Internal Medicine at the University of South Alabama Whiddon College of Medicine in Mobile, Alabama, is seeking a full-time board-eligible/board-certified Pulmonary/Critical Care provider to join the division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The chosen candidate will join a division of 8 academic faculty members and 9 pulmonary fellows. Faculty share weekend call and are assigned to clinical services based on activities such as research time, formal teaching at the undergraduate level, and clinical educator roles.

Responsibilities

  • Teach students, house staff, and fellows
  • Provide patient care
  • Perform pulmonary-related procedures
  • Conduct basic and/or clinical research

Requirements

  • Successful completion or in-process completion of an ACGME-accredited Pulmonary/Critical Care/Sleep Fellowship program
  • Board-certified in Internal Medicine and board-eligible/board-certified in both Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine
  • Ability to obtain a medical license and DEA certification for the state of Alabama
