About the Role
The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Associate Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of medical care for a diverse patient population with a broad range of advanced thoracic oncology, airway and pleural diseases in outpatient clinics, inpatient consultation services, and medical intensive care unit.
Qualifications
- M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree
- Board certification in Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care
Responsibilities
- Teaching pulmonary and critical care fellows, house staff, medical students, and advanced practitioners within the Health System
- Providing 100 credits per year of active and high-quality teaching (academic clinician track requirement)
- Treating patients with thoracic oncology, complex airways, and pleural disorders
- Performing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy and pleural disease procedures
- Rounding on inpatient and consultative services
- Participating in a busy outpatient clinical practice at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, and Pennsylvania Hospital
- Providing management and/or leadership as expected
