PUCT, Energy Efficiency Analyst (Management Analyst II)

About the role

The Executive Director's Division oversees the Critical Infrastructure Security and Risk Management and Energy Efficiency program areas, ensuring effective leadership, strategic direction, and alignment with the agency's mission to protect Texas utility consumers and promote reliable utility services.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with utilities to ensure cyber and physical security best practices are utilized.
• Provide emergency management assistance and coordination.
• Connect utilities to available state and federal resources.
• Analyze utility filings, evaluate complex datasets, develop analytical tools and reports.
• Research emerging energy efficiency and regulatory issues.
• Provide recommendations that support Commission initiatives and regulatory proceedings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, mathematics, statistics, data analytics, or a related field.
• At least one year of experience applying analytical, quantitative, research, or data analysis skills.

Skills

• Experience researching, developing, analyzing, reviewing and interpreting numerical or technical data on complex subjects.

• Experience reviewing and validating mathematical calculations, working with large datasets, and applying quantitative analysis techniques.
• Experience preparing written reports, summaries, or presentations to communicate technical or analytical information.

Starting salary will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience within the advertised salary range.

Schedule

The PUCT operates on a standard work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Employees may request an alternative work schedule in accordance with the PUCT's Alternative Work Schedule Policy.
