Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Publisher, located in San Francisco, CA. The Publisher will oversee the strategic operations of Mission Local, including managing budgets, fostering revenue growth, and maintaining effective partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Leading the organization’s vision
• Managing the editorial and business teams
• Oversight of fundraising and advertising efforts
• Ensuring the long-term sustainability of the publication
• Playing a critical role in community engagement and fostering relationships with stakeholders

Qualifications

• Budget management, financial planning, and business development skills
• Experience in digital and print media operations, advertising, and content monetization strategies
• Strong leadership, team management, and organizational skills
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, including public speaking and relationship building with community members
• Knowledge of San Francisco’s diverse communities and passion for local journalism
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered
• Experience in fundraising and grant writing is a plus
• Familiarity with editorial processes and journalistic ethics is a strong advantage
