Minimum Requirements
- A high school diploma, successful completion of GED, or specialized vocational training in the construction of sanitary sewer infrastructure.
- Eight (8) years of full-time work experience in construction, operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of sanitary sewers or related field.
- Extensive knowledge of local and state construction and environmental codes.
Additional Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
- Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
- Must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite.
- Must be able to work long shifts during adverse weather conditions.
- Must be able to use desktop/laptop computer and be familiar with software.
- Must be able to perform electronic research to include but not limited to, GIS and work-related websites.
- Must be able to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with commercial and residential customers.
- Must be considered “essential personnel” during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager.
