Public Works Street Operator/Water Utility Locator

Hiring range: $29.82 - $33/hr or $62,025 - $68,640 annually, depending on qualifications.

About the role

The Street Operator/Utility Locator performs utility locates in spring, summer, and fall, along with associated paperwork. The role also includes public right-of-way maintenance such as winter snow removal, street maintenance, and sidewalk/boardwalk upkeep. Additional duties may involve backup operations for water and sewer systems as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct utility locates and complete related documentation
• Maintain public right-of-way, including snow removal, street repairs, and sidewalk/boardwalk upkeep
• Operate light or heavy-duty equipment for maintenance and construction activities
• Provide backup support for water and sewer operations

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain one
• Two years of experience in maintenance using light or heavy-duty equipment or construction activities

Opportunities for on-the-job training are available for candidates without experience or required licenses.
