Public Works Plans Reviewer/Inspector
The City of Port Townsend is recruiting for a Public Works Plans Reviewer/Inspector position, which can be hired at the I, II, or III level based on qualifications.
About the role
This position supports the Public Works Department in reviewing community development plans, inspecting capital projects, managing right-of-way, enforcing codes, and providing technical support for engineering projects and infrastructure implementation.
Responsibilities
- Supports the review of community development plans
- Inspects capital projects and community development
- Maintains right-of-way management
- Enforces codes and standards
- Provides technical support for construction projects
- Oversight and support of development for quality public infrastructure
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Three years' experience performing construction-related work or inspection in related fields
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer operating systems
- Valid Washington State Driver's License and acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree in construction management, engineering technology, or related field
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of software
- Experience with public works projects and/or municipal government experience
Pay
PW Plans Reviewer/Inspector I: Pay range $34.04-38.52 hourly base pay range ($34.04-43.14 total pay range including maximum potential longevity pay)
PW Plans Reviewer/Inspector II: Pay range $37.55-42.67 hourly base pay range ($37.55-47.79 total pay range including maximum potential longevity pay)
PW Plans Reviewer/Inspector III: Pay range $39.18-44.50 base pay range ($39.18-49.84 total pay range with maximum potential longevity)
