Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide quality assurance and quality control of public works construction performed by both city contractors and private development contractors.
- Conduct project management of City projects and contractors including becoming familiar with contractor’s CPM (critical path method) schedule while reviewing daily construction progress, identifying problems and recommending solutions.
- Maintain project documentation for city and private development projects and right-of-way permitted work.
- Maintain storm water quality compliance with Federal, State and City requirements on both city and private projects.
- Cookordination and oversight activity in city right-of-way, easements and flood plains.
- Provide daily observation of jobsites for general compliance with OSHA requirements.
- May inspect right-of-ways and issue citations for violations.
- May review/approve Right of Way permits as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- A minimum of 75 contact hours of technical training in inspection and public works construction
- 4 years related experience
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education/Experience: 6 months to 1 year advanced training past the high school level
- 4 to 6 years of experience in public works or building construction
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Class C Texas driver's license
