Public Works Inspector

Responsibilities

• Drafting production and coordination
• Ensuring work done by the Contractor is in compliance with contract documents
• Cookordination inspections with OE personnel and appropriate client departments
• Verifying that materials are in accordance with contract documents
• Ensuring compliance with applicable safety regulations
• Insuring proper placement and maintenance of signs, barricades and warning devices
• Sampling and performing field tests for quality assurance
• Generating and filing necessary documents pertaining to construction progress including: Daily Reports, Weekly Statement of Working Days, Monthly pay estimates and job expenditures, Stipulate corrections and repairs necessary before final acceptance is made
• Assisting in preparation of final as-built plans and reports

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a public works inspector
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• QSP/QSD Certification (preferred)
• Knowledge of Caltrans Specifications (preferred)

Qualifications

Candidate must be able to coordinate the work of the Contractor, and act as the field representative for the City.
