City Employment Opportunities ◄ Back to All Categories PUBLIC WORKS INFRASTRUCTURE INSPECTOR The City of LeClaire, Iowa, is now accepting applications for a FULL-TIME PUBLIC WORKS INFRASTRUCTURE INSPECTOR position. Starting wage is $26.63 per hour and actual wage scale will be commensurate with experience and qualifications plus benefits. Eligible for wage increases after six months if applicable. Responsible for inspecting, evaluating and documenting the construction, maintenance, and condition of public works infrastructure projects. This includes streets, sidewalks, bridges, utilities, drainage systems, and other municipal assets. The inspector ensures that all work complies with construction standards including SUDAS, stormwater drainage requirements, design specifications, and safety regulations. Performs a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled maintenance work and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of City sewer, street, storm drainage, parks, and other public facilities, systems, equipment, and structures. Cleans sewers and intakes; applies and tamps patching materials to pavement holes; spreads gravel; loads and unloads materials and equipment; operates a snow plow; spreads sand and salt on road surfaces; operates vehicles from pick-up trucks to tractors as required; mows weeds and grass in the right-of-way and parks; raises and lowers manholes and performs the masonry work involved; and builds simple forms and performs various concrete work. Valid Class B CDL driver's license required.
