Public Works Equipment Operator or Senior Equipment Operator (Water/Sewer)

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain City vehicles and equipment
  • Calculate materials needed for projects
  • Service water mains, taps, and valves
  • Paint and flush fire hydrants
  • Perform traffic control around active work sites
  • Clear trees, brush, and debris from streets, rights of way, and storm drains
  • Support team members by assisting with training and coordinating work activities
  • Ensure job sites are set up safely and efficiently

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid Texas driver's license and good driving record. Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.

Qualifications

Experience operating heavy equipment such as dump trucks, excavators, and bulldozers. Knowledge of city infrastructure and maintenance procedures. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Pay

Salary range: $40,000 - $50,000 annually
