Public Works Crew Members perform all tasks involving the installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of Village facilities, parks, water and sewer systems, and mechanical equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate light and heavy equipment
- Perform snow removal and ice control
- Maintain storm water systems
- Mow and perform general maintenance activities
- Participate in an “On-Call” rotation to respond to emergencies including water main breaks, sanitary sewer backups, storm-related debris clearance, and snow removal
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- At least 6 months of experience in public works, construction, or landscaping including varied manual tasks or equivalent role
- Must possess and maintain a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and valid Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), or be able to acquire a valid CDL within six months of hire
- No felony or domestic abuse convictions, no charges or allegations of sexual misconduct
- Must pass medical screening, drug screening, and a comprehensive background investigation
- Must sign a waiver and release for personal information
Qualifications
Desired qualifications include:
- Associate’s degree or higher in a field related to the core responsibilities
- Water operator certification
- Knowledge of small engines
- Professional training or work experience may be considered with qualifications
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Work in vehicles and outdoor settings in all weather conditions, including prolonged periods in extreme weather
- Exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, fumes, and other environmental factors
- Ability to sit, stand, reach, bend, stoop, and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift objects up to 70 pounds repeatedly
- Ability to climb, operate equipment, or work in confined spaces

Schedule

- Typically Monday through Friday
