About the role
Administers complex state and federal public transportation grant programs and projects. Performs program and project oversight activities to include complex applications, grant agreements, procurements, reimbursements, audits and administrative requirements to determine compliance with federal and state requirements, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Acts as district or division liaison in area of expertise.
- Collaborates with program staff to provide technical assistance on program requirements to government agencies, transit providers, community organizations and the general public.
- Collaborates with program staff to conduct reviews to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements, laws, regulations, policies and procedures; assists in approvals and developing recommendations for improvements.
- Plans, develops and recommends program guidelines, policies, procedures, enhancements and methodologies.
- Processes data for input; maintains and verifies reports; and/or establishes and updates records.
- Solves audit exceptions.
- Writes internal/external correspondence/reports/lists/forms/updates/memos concerning programs and projects.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in public or business administration or an accounting related field.
- Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis.
- Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications Experience: 5 years of experience in contract/grant/funding administration, planning, budgeting and/or working with state and federal funding.

- Extensive knowledge of Applicable contract/grant/funding/project/program processes, policies and procedures.
- Applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Developing and implementing programs.
- Expert skill in Establishing plans and setting objectives and goals that support overall business strategy/results; anticipating and adjusting for problems/roadblocks.
- Public relations for maintaining effective working relationships with individuals and groups, both internal and external.
- Proficient skill in Collecting, sorting and compiling data.
- Interpreting applicable information.
- Using computers, applicable programs, applications, and systems.
