About the role
This is a newly created role due to expansion. It is a highly visible leadership opportunity with business development expectations and a strong emphasis on mentoring and team development.
Responsibilities
- Lead business development efforts in the Colorado Springs market
- Expand services for existing clients and drive cross-selling initiatives
- Network with Centers of Influence and industry associations
- Develop and present internal/external training and thought leadership
- Mentor and develop multiple accounting staff members
- Participate in community and professional organizations
- Execute engagements from planning through completion
- Serve as main contact for client onboarding
- Maintain year-round client communication
- Manage engagement budgets and billing
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Assign and review staff work
- Conduct performance evaluations and stay interviews
- Lead recruitment and onboarding efforts
- Develop career pathways and staff retention strategies
- Align team with firm strategy and core values
Requirements
- Active CPA (Colorado)
- Reside in the Colorado Springs area
- 5+ years of public tax experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Strong technical tax expertise (federal, state, local)
- Advanced client relationship management skills
- Demonstrated leadership and staff development experience

Pay
$95,000 – $125,000 annually + Bonus
Schedule
On-site preferred; Hybrid schedule available
Office Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible start time)
Busy Season: 55–60 hours/week
Non-Busy Season: 40–45 hours/week
