About the role
The Public Space Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the hotel’s public areas, including hallways, bathrooms, lobby, and pool areas. This role ensures these spaces meet the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, contributing to a positive guest experience. The attendant will also work with the Front Desk to deliver guest amenities, refresh rooms, and handle laundry tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
- Push vacuum down entire length of hallway, carry supplies from department to assigned floor, and transport dirty linen to laundry shoot.
- Remove room service trays and carry dirty dishes to the service area.
- Perform bending/kneeling tasks for dusting and retrieving items from low surfaces.
- Maintain mobility to reach all areas of responsibility, including shelves, windows, ledges, pipes, and under/around furniture.
- Stand and walk continuously to accomplish tasks.
- Climb stairs (approximately 40 steps for 15% of a 40-hour workweek).
- Use standard EcoLab cleaning chemicals with protective gloves (10% of 8-hour shift) and goggles (20% of 40-hour week).
- Operate equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, carpet cleaners, and pressure washers.
- Greet guests, respond to special requests, and address concerns or complaints, escalating to management as needed.
- Gather waste and/or contaminated materials for disposal.
- Maintain assigned areas, including guestrooms, hallways, lobby, stairwells, and offices.
- Ensure privacy and security by properly announcing entry and servicing guestrooms.
- Use and maintain assigned equipment and supplies according to departmental specifications.
- Observe and maintain common areas, including floor closets, stairwells, halls, lobby areas, and elevators.
- Maintain daily logs, track issued keys, and review communications logs routinely.
- Handle lost and found items in accordance with department policies and security procedures.
- Keep supervisors informed of significant issues or problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Commitment to and passion for 100% guest satisfaction.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in cleaning or hospitality (preferred).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and use a step ladder for basic cleaning duties.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
- Patient and tactful composure when interacting with guests, staff, and visitors.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Excellent organization skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision while meeting high-performance standards.

Pay
Hourly pay rate: $16.00 - $17.00.
