Join the Memphis Grizzlies as a Public Safety Supervisor for 3rd shift operations, overseeing security personnel, CCTV, and Access Control systems at FedEx Forum. This role supports 24/7 arena security, event-related security, and serves as a liaison for law enforcement and emergency response.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day security operations and supervise full-time Public Safety Officers.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for company property and staff.
- Recognize, report, and investigate signs of crime or disorder.
- Document detailed notes of unusual occurrences impacting safety and security.
- Perform security overwatch and engagement in parking areas, including the dock.
- Direct operations at incident scenes, calls for service, and special events.
- Review and distribute incident reports completed by Public Safety Staff.
- Investigate and handle complaints involving Public Safety Staff.
- Coordinate meetings and trainings for Public Safety Staff.
- Direct and participate in rendering aid at emergency scenes.
- Execute emergency response planning in situational instances.
- Supervise threat monitoring (e.g., weather, social media, open-source data).
- Serve as primary law enforcement liaison during non-event days.
- Manage deployment and redeployment of personnel and assets.
- Develop and manage post orders.
- Supervise officer patrol screenings and Operations Center activities.
- Develop and administer routine training to staff.
- Schedule Public Safety Officer work shifts.
- Supervise CCTV and access control systems.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 2-3 years of demonstrated leadership experience in law enforcement, security, military, or a related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective critical thinking and situational response skills.
- Working knowledge of enforcement policies and procedures.
- Must meet minimum requirements for TN State Private Protective Services license eligibility and renew every 2 years.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Physical/Cognitive Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, walking, and standing.
- Ability to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Ability to travel throughout the facility as required.
- Visual acuity, including close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work in varied environments, including heights, elevators, darkened arenas, crowds, loud noise, and flashing lights.
- Continuous stretching, standing, and walking, including up and downstairs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior law enforcement experience.
- Prior knowledge of access controls.
- Physical and personnel security experience.
- Working knowledge of magnetometers and X-rays.
- Knowledge of sports and entertainment, specifically NBA basketball.
