Responsibilities
- Performs duties as security officer.
- Wears issued uniform properly along with all issued equipment.
- Maintains a public presence of security.
- Interacts with Public in a positive manner responding to requests and providing general guidance to the public on security and access issues.

- Responds to all incidents of aggressive patients and visitors.
- Responds to altercations with patients, visitors and staff and properly uses Defensive Resources in accordance with hospital Use of Force Policy.
- Fulfills other hospital rules and regulations.
- Understands Hospital SOP for restraint application, commitment against will situations.
- Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards.
- All required safety education programs have been attended.
- Follows the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
- Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, procedures and correct use of protective barrier equipment.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
- Interacts with all of the above in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner as observed by Manager and peers.
- Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department?s/unit?s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
- Counsels staff.
- Educational requirement: High School Graduate or GED.
- Experience: Previous law enforcement, military, dispatching, or security experience preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: CPI, MOAB, Defensive Resources (Baton, Handcuffing, and OC Foam), and Restraint Certification must be obtained within 6 months.
- Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft office products. Must be competent with computer skills, multitasking, and dispatching.
- Other requirements: Valid Driver's license is required.
