Hood Meadows is seeking an experienced and service-driven leader to serve as our Department of Public Safety (DPS) Manager, overseeing safety, security, and emergency preparedness operations across both Mt. Hood Meadows and Cooper Spur. This year-round leadership position plays a critical role in protecting our guests, employees, facilities, and mountain communities while helping create a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for everyone who visits our resorts. As DPS Manager, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for security operations, emergency response coordination, incident investigations, loss prevention, and public safety initiatives. Working closely with Ski Patrol, Human Resources, Mountain Operations, and executive leadership, you will develop training programs, implement safety measures, and coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies—including law enforcement, the U.S. Forest Service, and Search and Rescue teams—to support the unique demands of a dynamic mountain environment. This is a Full-Time, Year-Round Benefitted position Qualifications And Experience Minimum 21 years of ageValid Driver’s LicenseAbility to be insured as a driver by Mt Hood MeadowsHigh School Diploma or equivalentBachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field, 4 years of experience in public safety officer role, or equivalent combination of education and experience in law enforcement, fire marshal or private security2 years’ experience in supervisory rolePossess or ability to obtain DPSST Private Security Licenses (Unarmed, Manager)Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word)Ability to commit to working weekends and holidaysMust be comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business.Ability to work and stand outside for extended periods of time in adverse winter weather conditionsExperience in performance evaluation, training programs and records management Preferred Qualifications & Experience Previous experience in large public assembly facilities is highly desirable Hazardous Materials TrainingFire prevention / Suppression trainingODOT Traffic Control TrainingParking operations experienceIncident command / mass casualty trainingWorking knowledge of emergency responseKnowledge of key and lock systemsKnowledge of Mt Hood Meadows permit area and surroundingKnowledge of Resort Operations and Mountain OperationsKnowledge of radio communications systems Compensation Salary: $2545 – $3160 gross per bi-weekly pay period Benefits Generous employer contribution towards medical plan Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance401k after 500 hours in 6 months.
