Public Safety Officer (Part Time, Weekends Only)

About the role

The Public Safety Officer will report to the Director of Public Safety and will assist in advancing the university's efforts in implementing its new mission statement and strategic plan.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Public Safety in ensuring the university’s Catholic identity, Franciscan charism, and commitment to the liberal arts remain central to the educational mission and public identity.
• Support the implementation of the university's new mission statement and strategic plan.

Requirements

• Completion of a criminal background check.
• Valid driver’s license.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in law enforcement, security, or a related field.
• Experience with crisis management and conflict resolution.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures.

Pay

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour based on experience.

Schedule

Night, weekend, and holiday shifts are required.
