Public Safety Officer

About the role

The Public Safety Officer provides security of patients, visitors, staff, and property by patrolling assigned areas, maintaining visitor control, and investigating irregularities. They also provide information and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff. The Campus Police & Public Safety department promotes a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors, operating 24 hours a day to monitor emergency security/communications systems, investigate irregularities, and manage CCTV surveillance cameras across the campuses and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas to ensure security of patients, visitors, staff, and property.
• Maintain visitor control and investigate irregularities.
• Provide information and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff.
• Monitor emergency security and communications systems within the hospital.
• Investigate irregularities and manage CCTV surveillance cameras across campuses and facilities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
• Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice (Preferred).
• Bachelor's Degree (Preferred).

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in Security (Preferred).
• 2 years of experience in Law Enforcement (Preferred).
• 2 years of experience in Public Safety (Preferred).
• 2 years of Military experience (Preferred).
• 2 years of Clinical experience in EMS or Medical Transport Service (Preferred).
