About the role
We are seeking a Public Safety Officer, also known as a Hospital Security Officer or Healthcare Security Officer.
Responsibilities
- Perform access control and patrol duties, including monitoring entrances, exits, and restricted areas; conducting regular interior and exterior patrols to deter theft, violence, or unsafe behavior.
- Respond to emergency codes and assist with crowd control, evacuation, or containment as needed.
- Intervene in disruptive situations using de-escalation techniques to calm agitated patients or visitors, often in collaboration with clinical staff.
- Escort patients or visitors safely through the facility, provide directions, and assist with lost-and-found or personal property issues.
- Write detailed reports on incidents, accidents, or safety hazards and report findings to supervisors or risk management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- State Guard Certification Registration Card within 6 months of hire and maintain current State Driver’s license upon hire
- Current DMV H6 report
Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare security or related experience is a plus.
