About the role
The City of Plano seeks a Public Safety Officer to join our team. This position is responsible for providing law enforcement services within the city limits.
Responsibilities
- Investigate criminal activity and respond to emergency calls
- Provide security and safety to citizens and visitors
- Enforce laws and ordinances related to public safety
- Maintain order and conduct patrols as necessary
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Successful completion of a police academy program
- Ability to pass a background check
Qualifications
- At least two years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience
- Completion of a certified police training academy
- Knowledge of traffic control signals and practices
- Ability to operate police vehicles and equipment
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective problem-solving abilities
- Ability to make quick decisions under pressure
- Proficiency in computer systems and software
