About the role
The role involves providing security and support in a healthcare setting, focusing on public safety, crisis intervention, and patient care.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency situations
- Open and close the facility, securing doors and ensuring safety
- Maintain a visible presence to deter criminal activity
- Communicate and coordinate with staff and other departments
- Escort visitors, patients, and personnel to various locations
- Manage hostile or disruptive behavior and ensure safe interactions
- Direct patient concerns to appropriate staff
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some college coursework or vocational training in behavioral health, social services, or a related field preferred
- CPR Certified: Training will be provided if the candidate is otherwise eligible
- 1-3 years of experience as a security guard/officer
- 1-3 years of experience in healthcare, public safety, social services, or related environments
- Physical demands including walking, standing, and responding quickly in emergencies
- Driver's License
- MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) training
- NIMS IC 100, 200, 700, and 800 certifications
- IHASS basic security training and catch training
Qualifications
- Education: High School or better, PHD preferred

- Knowledge of crisis intervention, de-escalation, and supportive engagement techniques
- Ability to recognize early warning signs of agitation or distress

- Able to remain calm, professional, and effective in high-stress or emergency situations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Basic computer literacy for documentation and reporting
