About the role

Aurelian builds AI tools that help 911 centers handle more with less, so telecommunicators can stay focused on what matters most and communities get the response they need. AVA is a conversational AI agent that answers non-emergency calls; the agent routes, triages, and resolves the calls without any human intervention. By handling administrative calls like noise complaints, lost dogs, and parking inquiries, AVA eliminates hold times and lets call-takers focus their energy on actual emergencies. CORA supports call-takers on the calls that matter most. CORA is an on-screen assistant that delivers real-time SOP checklists, smart reminders, and contextual guidance as an emergency call unfolds, so dispatchers stay calm, consistent, and confident when every second counts.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Technical Demo: Deliver tailored AVA and CORA demos to PSAP leadership, IT, and dispatch staff—going deep on the technology when the room calls for it, and making it simple when it doesn't.
  • Run Technical Discovery: Lead discovery on each opportunity's CAD environment, NG9-1-1 posture, telephony/SIP setup, call volume, and staffing picture—then turn what you learn into a solution and ROI story that resonates.
  • Be the Technical Partner in the Deal: Field tough technical questions, serve as the industry expert in the room, and earn the technical trust that moves a deal forward.
  • Travel up to 60–80% to run demos and meetings alongside our reps, and deliver high-quality virtual demos when you're not on the road.
  • Represent Aurelian at public safety conferences, events, webinars, and industry working groups to build credibility and expand our reach.

Requirements

  • Public safety grounding. You know dispatch operations, the workflows, and the language.
  • Real 911/PSAP domain experience. Genuine exposure to dispatch operations—not adjacent govtech.
  • Working knowledge of CAD, NG9-1-1, telephony/SIP, integrations, and security/CJIS—or the curiosity and aptitude to get fluent fast.
  • The instinct to sell value, not features. You connect what you learn in discovery to ROI, business outcomes, and capacity, not specs.
  • Presence and composure. You're credible and comfortable whether you're in front of a dispatch floor or a room full of stakeholders.
  • Curiosity and coachability. You ask good questions, fit a team selling motion, and you're willing to try new things.
  • Comfort with heavy travel (60-80%) and time on customer and prospect sites.

Qualifications

  • 2–3+ years as a Sales Engineer in the 911 / public safety space, with prior public safety experience behind it, or
  • A strong background inside a dispatch center and ready to step into a technical, customer-facing role.

Skills

  • Technical aptitude across the PSAP stack.
