Public Relations/Social Media Intern

About the role

The Chernoff Newman internship program aims to offer a well-rounded experience that includes a deep dive of agency life. Interns are immersed in account and client teams and contribute to real work—not simply administrative tasks. The program offers three internships each year in the fall, spring, and summer semesters, aligning with the applicant’s school schedule. The selected candidate will work in-person in either the Columbia or Charlotte office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordination and implementation of various projects/client accounts
• Write press releases, create media lists, and assist in press release distribution
• Draft social media content for client and agency accounts
• Provide research and data entry support
• Create analytics reports for various departments including PR/social, paid media, and web

Requirements

• Self-starter with a strong desire to learn
• Exceptional time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Existing knowledge of traditional social media platforms
• Current enrollment in a related BS or BA program

Pay

$12/hour

Schedule

15–20 hours per week
