Public Relations Internship
About the role
We are seeking a motivated and curious intern with a passion for writing, communications, media relations, and collectibles. Internships are paid and may last from eight weeks to 90 days.
Responsibilities
- Writing and editing post-auction press releases for smaller auctions.
- Creating and organizing online press kits.
- Researching rare collectibles, notable objects, and auction highlights.
- Building, updating, and editing targeted media lists.
- Aiding with outreach and communication with reporters.
- Serving as a resource for additional public relations and media-relations projects.
- Contributing to Heritage’s Intelligent Collector magazine.
- Taking on more advanced assignments, such as drafting media advisories or press releases for higher-value auctions.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Current college student or recent graduate preferred.
- Coursework or experience in public relations, communications, journalism, English, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and research skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with colleagues, media contacts, and other external partners.
