Public Policy Manager, Northwest

Meta seeks an experienced professional to support the company’s state public policy and government relations efforts in the Northwest US. Candidates will be responsible for political engagement and issue advocacy across a territory of US states. This position will report to the Public Policy Director, West/Midwest United States. The position is based in Seattle, Denver, or remote in Washington or Colorado area. Frequent travel is required. Public Policy Manager, Northwest Responsibilities: Identify, monitor and analyze state legislative proposals that impact MetaRepresent and communicate our policy positions to members of state legislatures and AdministrationsMonitor political environment and identify opportunities to advance policies that benefit the company, the state, and local communitiesManage relationships with state policymakersProvide support to the Director, Public Policy, South/Southeast U.S. with respect to policy work and operational needs within their larger region as neededDevelop strategies for engagement with chambers of commerce, industry associations, non-profits, and civil society groups to advance priorities in regionTravel up to 50% of the time (primarily in the region) Minimum Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in public policy, advocacy, or government affairsUnderstanding of state political process, policymakers, and stakeholders in regionDemonstrated experience creating and implementing advocacy campaigns directly relevant to state government, including achieving short and long term milestones related to advancing policy, political and/or advocacy goalsExperience communicating nuanced concepts to a wide array of audiencesExperience working cross-functionally Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologiesProven track record of building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, advocacy groups, and community leadersExperience managing contract lobbyists and trade associationsCapacity to navigate complex organizational structures and build coalitions to achieve policy goalsExperience working on complex policy issues, such as technology, privacy, and economic developmentDemonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to think strategically and develop effective solutionsDemonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)Familiarity with Meta's products and services, as well as the company's policy priorities and valuesExperience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)Proven communication and interpersonal skills, with the demonstrated experience to work effectively with wide-ranging stakeholdersDemonstrated understanding of various state legislative and regulatory processes About Meta: Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
