About The Position

Clark County Commission and Manager's Office is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Public Information Specialist (Social Media) position for the Office of Communication and Strategy. This position is responsible for managing the County’s official social media channels, creating and producing public information videos and social media content related to Countywide activities, initiatives, and programs. The role with the Office of Communication and Strategy also includes engaging in social media marketing and listening, as well as planning and overseeing the work of staff involved in content production.

Responsibilities

  • Produce, shoot, edit and post videos and other content for County social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter.
  • Research and compose original social media video scripts.
  • Direct, rehearse, edit and record social media videos.
  • Coordinate activities in the studio and on remote locations.
  • Monitor social media and provide effective feedback on social listening to strategically support the County’s social engagement.
  • Organize and oversee all facets of operations utilizing the most efficient and effective means.
  • Train and oversee the activities of employees and contractors involved in production activities.
  • Create and administer outreach and promotion efforts for social media programming.
  • Serve as liaison with other County departments and the public.
  • Establish shoots, schedule guests, and perform subject research.
  • Develop and update production policies and procedures.
  • Utilize video equipment systems and peripheral equipment to produce social media content and graphics.
  • Maintain digital media, records and files.
  • Prepare logs, reports and statistics on social media activity.
  • Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and participating as an active member of a work team.
  • Use standard office equipment, including a computer, in the course of the work; use audio-visual/social media equipment in the course of the work.
  • Drive a personal or County motor vehicle to attend meetings and reach production locations.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college course work in Journalism, Communications, Public Information, or a field related to the work AND two (2) years of experience in video production for social media and social media content creation.
  • Professional level experience and/or education that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
  • All qualifying education and each experience must be clearly documented in the “Education” and “Work Experience” sections of the application.

Working Conditions: May work outside of normal working hours.

Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of appointment.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.

Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
