About the role
The Castine Historical Society seeks a dedicated individual to join our team as a Historian. This position will involve researching, documenting, and presenting the rich history of Castine, Maine.
Responsibilities
- Conduct historical research on Castine’s past
- Develop and maintain exhibits and educational programs
- Write articles and blog posts for the society’s website and newsletter
- Manage the collections and ensure their preservation
- Collaborate with community partners to promote historical awareness
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Archaeology, or related field
- Experience in museum work or historical research
- Strong writing and public speaking skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
