PUBLIC HEALTH SPECIALIST (HEALTH EDUCATOR)

About the role

The Public Health Specialist (Health Educator) position within Steuben County is responsible for providing public health education and promoting healthy behaviors through various initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement public health education programs and campaigns.
• Conduct health assessments and provide feedback to improve program effectiveness.
• Collaborate with community partners to enhance health outcomes.
• Evaluate health education programs and make recommendations for improvements.
• Provide technical assistance to local organizations and agencies.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.
• Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Education, Nursing, or closely related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Education, Licensed Registered Professional Nursing, or closely related field and two years of experience working in Public Health / health education programs that include quality improvement and quality assurance or worksite wellness.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Driver’s license.
