About the role
The Pima County Health Department is seeking a Public Health Program Specialist I to join the Maternal Child Health-Healthy Arizona Families Program within the Community Outreach, Prevention, and Education (COPE) Division. This is a grant-funded position ending June 2027.
Responsibilities
- Organize program activities, timelines, and resources to ensure smooth program execution
- Collaborate with program staff to achieve program objectives and deliverables
- Track program progress and maintain documentation
- Engage with the community through outreach efforts and events
- Maintain program documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence
- Provide administrative support to program managers and coordinators
- Handle routine administrative tasks as required
- Stay informed about public health best practices and trends through ongoing learning and training opportunities
- Seek opportunities for professional growth within the public health field
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- One year of experience in the Public Health program related field
- Minimum six (6) months experience working with pregnant women, infants, and toddlers
- Minimum six (6) months experience working with people of diverse backgrounds
- Minimum six (6) months experience working in a health/social services field
Qualifications
- Valid driver license required at time of application and appointment
- Must pass a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review
- Must complete a satisfactory personal background investigation
- Must provide proof of immunizations or a TB screening
