Oversee key newborn hearing screening efforts, manage grants, and collaborate with statewide partners to ensure timely screenings, consistent follow-up, and strong program performance. Responsibilities

  • Manage the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) program and ensure activities follow guidelines and timelines.
  • Assist with preparing the program budget and identify funding needs for activities.
  • Serve as project officer for federal grants, prepare applications, oversee agreements, and monitor fiscal activities.
  • Communicate with hospitals, birthing centers, midwives, and advisory groups to support program needs and outreach.
  • Review program data, complete needs assessments, and use reports to evaluate screening outcomes and program efficiency.
  • Participate in meetings, support education efforts, and assist with statewide initiatives related to newborn hearing screening.

Schedule

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework opportunity: Part-time telework may be available if you have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If unable to telework, you may report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Telework eligibility is subject to change.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Public Health Program Associate 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
