About the role

The Department of Public Health for St. Louis County Government is actively looking to hire a Public Health Nurse (PHN) to join their team. This nursing position will provide community nursing needs through the Public Health Nursing program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop therapeutic relationships, utilize concepts of trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing with women and their families in a home visiting environment.
  • Assess physical, emotional, social, and environmental strengths and challenges of women and their families.
  • Provide education, support, and resources to assist women and their families in attaining their goals.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and reflective supervision.
  • Perform such additional duties as required and needed by the Public Health Nursing department, including Department of Public Health vaccine events and CPR training for childcare centers.
  • Provide patient care and treatment.
  • Provide patient education to promote patient wellness to maintain and improve health.
  • Complete and maintain a systematic plan of care for all patients and document all services provided.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Missouri.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
  • Current, valid driver's license.

Pay

  • Competitive average salary range is between $27.37 - $30.00 hourly, based on your qualifications.

Schedule

  • The work schedule for this role is 30 hours per week, allowing for a full-time benefits package with St. Louis County Government.
