Salary: Hourly $22.95 / Annual $47,752.22
Minimum Requirements
- One year of experience as a Public Health Administrator Trainee
- OR Bachelor’s Degree in public health, public administration, education, communications, behavioral sciences, or a related field and three (3) years of professional public health program experience, including one (1) year of administrative or supervisory experience
- OR Master’s Degree in public health, public administration, education, communications, behavioral sciences, or a related field and one (1) year of administrative or supervisory experience
- OR any equivalent combination of experience and training

Condition of Employment
- Successful completion of a background check, including verification of Allegheny County Real Estate Tax status
- Drug/medical examinations as required for the position
- Residency in Allegheny County within one year of employment
Employment Type: Full-Time, Associate Level. Grant-funded positions are contingent upon grant funding.

Position Summary
This is administrative, management, and professional work in planning, directing, and coordinating public health activities. An employee in this role may assist a higher-level public health administrator or administer a generalized program of public health services. Work involves broadening experience to prepare for broader administrative responsibility in public health. Supervision may be exercised over professional, technical, and clerical personnel. Work is reviewed for conformance to departmental policies and progressive achievement.
Duties
- Assist a high-level public health administrator in administering a public health program on a county-wide basis or a generalized program of public health services
- Provide administrative/management services to departmental personnel, outside individuals, professional and lay groups, and local health groups
- Plan program and budget requirements; collect, analyze, report, and interpret public health program statistics
- Direct adjunctive professional, technical, and clerical staff; prepare and maintain pertinent records and reports
- Perform related administrative/management duties as assigned
