About the role
This is a dynamic opportunity to join a practice advising on complex public finance transactions involving governmental, nonprofit, and private sector entities. The role is highly collaborative, with immediate client exposure and meaningful partner mentorship. You’ll be integrated into transactions from day one, taking on substantive drafting, negotiation, and client-facing responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate public finance and real estate finance transaction documents
- Analyze legal issues relating to municipal bond and conduit financing
- Conduct due diligence, including review of title, survey, and organizational documents
- Cook up closings and assist in preparing authorizing documents
- Advise on federal and state regulatory frameworks applicable to tax-exempt financings
- Provide strategic legal counsel to nonprofit institutions, lenders, and underwriters
Requirements
- 1–4 years’ experience in public finance or real estate finance transactions
- Member of the California Bar (active and in good standing)
- Strong understanding of financing structures and capital markets frameworks
- Skilled in drafting and issue spotting in complex transactional documentation
- Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills
- Committed to collaborative work and superior client service
- Experience working with nonprofits, institutional lenders, or investment banks is a plus
Qualifications
- Law degree from an accredited law school

Pay
Base Salary: $155,000 – $185,000 (DOE)
