About the role
A Public Space Attendant at Soho House keeps all lobbies and public facilities (such as lobby restrooms, telephone area, the front desk, and offices) in a neat and clean condition. The role promotes a positive image of the property to members and guests, requires reliability and approachability, and demands an acute eye for detail. The attendant should be able to address guest requests and problems as they arise.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine walk-throughs to ensure the overall tidiness, cleanliness, and maintenance of the Club, Rooms, Cowshed (Spa), and F&B Spaces (when applicable).
- Maintain a clean and tidy property, including stocking and supplying designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc.).
- Assist the housekeeping team with rooms, focusing on deep cleaning procedures.
- Adhere to local and government health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and safe work environment for members, guests, and staff by placing proper signage as needed.
- Perform and document daily inspection and maintenance activities.
- Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects, which may include minor repairs and organizing the stock room when shipments arrive.
- Proactively notify management of deficiencies or needs for repairs.
- Properly dispose of refuse, maintain storage areas, and restock areas and back landings as needed.
- Work collaboratively as a team member and reliably work autonomously and proactively as needed.
- Adhere to health and safety policies (e.g., IIPP, worker’s comp procedures, and allergy procedures) and enforce compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards, as well as local, state, and federal laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager.
Requirements
- At least 1+ year of proven working experience as a cleaner, maintenance worker, and/or housekeeper.
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and a positive influence on the team and staff.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when needed.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
- Must be capable of fast-paced movements to navigate different parts of the property.
- Must be able to move, pull, push, carry, or lift at least 30 pounds.
- Must be able to occasionally kneel, bend, crouch, and climb.
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting, cleaning, and stooping.
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for long periods of time.

Pay
In accordance with California law, the salary range for this role if filled within California is $24—$24 USD. The range for the position in other geographies may vary based on market differences. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
