Public Area Attendant - Seasonal

About the Role

We are seeking Seasonal Part-Time Public Area Attendants during our peak season at the historic Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center. This role is crucial in maintaining the hotel's cleanliness, which is a key factor in guest satisfaction and loyalty. As a Public Area Attendant, you will be part of the "Heart of the House," ensuring public spaces are spotless and assisting Room Attendants in creating a memorable guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Engage with guests to ensure their stay is enjoyable.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the hotel as a team.
• Walk assigned floors at the beginning and end of each shift to collect trash, bags, and soiled linens.
• Pick up clean linen and replenish linen par levels in each floor pantry.
• Ensure the cleanliness of all public areas, including bathrooms, lounge areas, and hallways.
• Assist Room Attendants with heavy lifting during deep-cleaning and spring-cleaning projects.
• Clean all public areas according to department standard operating procedures.
• Remove soiled linen and trash from service areas and transport them to the appropriate locations.
• Respond to guests and fellow team members in a friendly, helpful manner at all times.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Neat, professional appearance and pleasant personality.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to move, bend, stretch, and reach high and low areas; observe conditions; detect odors; maneuver carts weighing up to 100 pounds in tight spaces; and operate equipment including vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads, dusters, and spray bottles.
• Ability to lift, carry, and position loads of at least 25 pounds.

Pay

$15.00 - $16.50 per hour

Schedule

Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required. This seasonal, part-time position is available immediately through January 9, 2027. High-performing team members may be considered for a regular On-Call or Part-Time position following the seasonal assignment if positions become available.
