Public and Institutional Banking & Finance Senior Counsel
About the role
The successful candidate must have at least 3-7 years of experience practicing transactional law at a large or medium size firm. While residency in the Chicago office is preferred, residency at other Chapman offices is possible.
Responsibilities
- Experience representing lenders in commercial lending transactions, in particular, secured and unsecured term loans and revolving lines of credit from origination through documentation
- Preparing reimbursement agreements, letters of credit and liquidity facilities utilized in connection with public finance transactions
- Familiarity with municipal finance, banking, and securities underwriting, including bond issuance, municipal general obligation and revenue bonds, tax and revenue anticipation notes and municipal lease obligations
- Specific experience dealing with nonprofit hospitals, nursing homes, universities and cultural institutions, exempt facility bonds financing housing, airports, utilities, solid waste and resource recovery facilities, student loan bonds, small issue industrial development bonds and commercial paper programs

Commitment to client service is critical, as is the ability to handle fast-paced transactions and juggle multiple projects and deadlines. Successful candidates will project professional presence, demonstrate flexibility in work situations, and be willing to accept constructive feedback.
Qualifications
Candidates must be members in good standing of the appropriate state Bar.

Pay
The expected salary range for this Illinois position is between $235,000 to $350,000.
