Public Affairs / Outreach Specialist
About the Role
Graham Technologies is seeking a Public Affairs / Outreach Specialist to develop and coordinate communications, multimedia content, stakeholder outreach, events, and public-facing materials for a Federal program. The specialist will ensure communications are accurate, consistent, professionally produced, and released through established review and approval processes. Location: San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute communication, public affairs, stakeholder-engagement, and outreach plans.
- Create and maintain content calendars for announcements, social media, industry engagements, events, and recurring communications.
- Draft articles, talking points, fact sheets, presentations, correspondence, announcements, and executive briefing materials.
- Produce and edit digital graphics, photography, video, web content, and other multimedia products.
- Coordinate virtual and in-person events, industry engagements, outreach sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
- Manage event schedules, invitations, registration, logistics, speaker support, materials, and post-event follow-up.
- Coordinate technical fact-checking, editorial review, branding review, accessibility review, and final approval before release.
- Prepare spokespersons and Government leaders with briefing books, talking points, media guidance, and presentation support.
- Monitor outreach effectiveness and provide metrics, lessons learned, and recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain organized libraries of approved communications products, templates, imagery, and source materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with relevant public affairs, communications, outreach, multimedia, journalism, marketing, or event-management experience, or at least five (5) years of directly relevant professional experience.
- Experience developing written and visual communications for varied audiences.
- Experience coordinating events, stakeholder engagements, or public-facing activities.
- Experience managing review and approval workflows for official communications.
- Active Secret clearance.
Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and virtual-event platforms.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or comparable graphic-design, photography, video, and publishing tools.
- Experience supporting Federal public affairs, technology communications, industry engagement, or mission-focused outreach (desired).
- Experience providing media training or executive communications support (desired).
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline (desired).
- Accreditation in Public Relations, Certified Meeting Professional, Adobe certification, or related credential (desired).
