About the Role
This onsite Full-Time CNC Machinist position on the 2nd shift offers you the chance to work with state-of-the-art lathes and mills, creating components that are crucial for aircraft performance. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate both manual and numerical control machines to cut, shape, and form metal workpieces to precise specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints and planning sheets to determine tooling requirements and setup procedures.
- Develop setup sheets and position fixtures to ensure accurate machining sequences.
- Download part programs from the shop's program storage and manipulate controls to start and monitor machinery.
- Observe machine operations to swiftly address malfunctions or inefficiencies, making suggestions for program adjustments to enhance quality and production.
- Machine various materials, deburr, clean parts, and maintain a safe and efficient workspace.
Requirements
- Solid foundation in machining principles, ideally supported by a Trade School certificate or relevant experience.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety guidelines, and operation manuals, as well as write basic reports.
- Strong mathematical skills for performing calculations related to measurements and ratios.
- Ability to apply common sense in following detailed instructions.
- Proficiency in operating lathes and mills while utilizing precision measuring equipment.
- Physical stamina to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and manage exposure to loud noise and airborne particles.
- Familiarity with CNC equipment and basic machine shop manuals to ensure adherence to quality production standards in the aerospace sector.
