Join VitalCaring – Where Your Work Changes Lives. As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), you play a key role in helping patients regain strength, mobility, and independence in the place they feel most comfortable - home.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care
- Provide direct physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist
- Follow individualized plans of care to help patients reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore function
- Absorb and support patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance, and functional mobility
- Assist patients with transfers, strengthening, and activities of daily living
- Utilize therapeutic modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation as appropriate
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, and use of assistive devices
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR
- Communicate effectively with the Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary care team
- Participate in case conferences and care coordination efforts
- Collaborate and contribute to the team
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) program
- Current PTA license or certification as required by state law
- 1+ year of experience preferred (home health experience a plus)
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
