PT - Water Safety Instructor - Recreation Division

About the role

The role involves leading water safety programs, supervising activities, and ensuring participant safety in recreational settings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement water safety education programs
• Supervise water-based activities and ensure participant safety
• Collaborate with other division staff to plan and execute events
• Maintain equipment and facilities to ensure they are safe and operational

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in recreation, physical education, or a related field
• Valid lifeguard certification
• Experience working with youth and adults in a group setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of aquatic safety regulations and guidelines

Skills

• Proficient in CPR and first aid
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
