What We Need
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Strong knowledge of local geography, major roadways, mass transit systems, and traffic patterns.
- A clear, pleasant, and well-controlled on air voice with excellent pronunciation.
- Skilled at working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom style environment.
- Exceptional writing and editing abilities with a strong command of grammar.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in a high-volume setting.
- Familiarity with police scanners is a plus.
- Previous broadcast experience preferred.
What You'll Do
- Provide timely, accurate, and useful information to help commuters plan their drives.
- Deliver up-to-the-minute reports on accidents, delays, and major traffic disruptions.
- Read traffic updates, commercials, and public service announcements on air.
- Gather information from multiple intake sources and monitor local, state, and national traffic feeds to determine what's most relevant.
- Research, write, and produce traffic and weather copy for on-air use; edit audio using digital editing software.
- Manage incoming information, verify facts, and ensure all details are accurate and current; maintain updated content on station websites.
- Create written, visual, audio, and video content for websites, blogs, and social media platforms.
- Work a flexible schedule as needed, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation
Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data. Range: $16.44 - $20.55
