About the role
The primary purpose of this job is to fill prescriptions, help customers, unpack totes, answer telephone calls, and answer questions within specified limits.
Responsibilities
- Review the work schedule, check equipment, and fill supplies at the start of the shift to prepare for duties.
- Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Move totes, open totes, unpack incoming supplies, and place items on appropriate shelves.
- Clean shelving, check inventory levels, and inspect product for expiration dates.
- Assist customers and answer telephone calls.
- Verify identification of customers for products when required.
- Complete the prescription filling process, including data entry and product dispensing.
- Understand and follow company policy and procedures as outlined in the policy and procedure manual and employee manual.
- Follow all state and federal laws in compliance with pharmacy rules and standards.
- Know MSDS information about all materials used during work.
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must meet state-required minimum age.
- Must successfully complete background check and drug screening.
- Must be able to read, write, communicate, and understand to complete job duties and comply with company policies and safety regulations.
- Must complete the company introductory (probationary) period of 60 days.
- Must meet ergonomic and physical requirements, as well as physical base scores for this position.
- Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools required for the job.
- Must perform all job functions safely.
- Must meet company performance standards for the job.
- Must agree to wear assigned clothes and shoes approved for this job.
- Must have and maintain valid specialty licenses, certificates, or permits required for the position.
- Complete Lockout/Tagout training.
- Complete Confined Space training.
- Complete Right-to-Know training.
- Complete HIPAA for Pharmacy Associates training.
- Complete all additional pharmacy training requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Shift hours: minimum 4-hour shifts or more depending on business needs.
- Job cycles: continual.
- Lift/carry: up to 50 lbs.
- Stand: 55%, Walk: 45%, Sit: 0%.
- Category IV: lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Max static pull: 20 lbs.
