About the role

The primary purpose of this job is to assist customers and answer telephone calls in a pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities

• Review the work schedule promptly at the start of each shift.
• Assist customers at the counter.
• Answer and assist with telephone calls.
• Verify identification of customers for regulated products when required.
• Understand and follow company policies and procedures as outlined in the policy and procedure manual and employee manual.
• Comply with all state and federal laws, pharmacy rules, and standards.
• Complete required training, including but not limited to:
  • Lockout/Tagout training
  • Confined Space training
  • Right-to-Know training
  • HIPAA for Pharmacy Associates training
  • Additional pharmacy-specific training requirements
• Know MSDS information for all materials used during work.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must meet state-required minimum age.
• Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening.
• Must be able to read, write, communicate, and understand English to complete job duties and comply with company policies and safety regulations.
• Must complete the company’s 60-day introductory (probationary) period.
• Must meet ergonomic and physical requirements, including physical base scores for this position.
• Must be able to use or learn to use equipment and tools required for the job.
• Must meet company performance standards, including regular attendance and safe job performance.
• Must agree to wear assigned clothes and shoes approved for this job.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with company policy and procedure manuals.

Physical Requirements

• Shift hours: Minimum 4-hour shifts or more, depending on business needs.
• Job cycles: Continuous activity throughout the shift.
• Lifting/carrying: Up to 50 lbs.
• Posture: Stand 55%, walk 45%, sit 0%.
• Category IV physical demands: Lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Maximum static pull: 20 lbs.
