About the role

Provide physical therapy services to patients who have impairments, functional limitations, or disabilities resulting from injury, disease or other causes. Practice in collaboration with other members of an interdisciplinary team. Educate patients, families and others. Direct and supervise support personnel. Manage technical, environmental, and financial resources effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate physical therapy needs according to organizational and professional guidelines.
  • Develop treatment plans that reflect understanding of patients’ age and situation including discharge plan.
  • Revise treatment plans based on patient progress towards stated goals.
  • Ensure documentation is complete, timely and in accordance with facility and practice guidelines.
  • Orient, train, and mentor therapy and health care students to achieve stated performance expectations.
  • Identify and act on performance improvement opportunities to implement best practices.
  • Complete additional department, organization, or network activities per established objectives.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy required.
  • Physical Therapist state license required.
  • Vestibular/Neuro experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Basic skills in math and computer science.
  • Appropriate knowledge of physical therapy evaluation and treatment techniques to manage the rehabilitation population.
  • Effective problem-solving skills for physical therapy evaluation, interpretation, treatment planning and execution, taking into consideration patient’s age, psychosocial, cultural and religious background.
  • Basic skills in teaching others and self-assessment of learning needs, strengths, and professional goals.
  • Ability to safely execute all job responsibilities without risking injury to self or patients.
  • Ability to assess and interact with patients and families using the theories of human growth and development, family systems, and cultural background.
  • Computer proficiency required; Microsoft Office applications preferred with ability to learn new software.
  • Ability to maintain a variable work schedule depending on hospital/program needs to provide patient care, including evenings, holidays, weekends and travel.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, working with a diverse population.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team.
  • Ability to anticipate challenges and develop and implement strategies for addressing them.
  • High level of service delivery; demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations.
  • Attention to detail.

Pay

$43.44 – $69.88 per hour

Schedule

Preferred schedule: 10 hours each on Monday and Friday; variable schedule including evenings, holidays, weekends and travel as needed to provide patient care.
