PT Inbound Freight Handler

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight onto and off of equipment
• Aid in the recovery of damaged freight
• Clean and prepare trailers before loading freight
• Use safe lifting techniques to load and unload freight
• Select and use appropriate freight handling equipment
• Weigh and dimension shipments to ensure proper classification and handling
• Plan cube utilization and weight distribution when loading freight
• Count and inspect freight, documenting shortages or damage
• Review freight bills and manifests for special instructions
• Verify hazardous material product descriptions and placarding
• Block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Prior experience as a Forklift Operator, Dock or Warehouse Worker, or Material Handler preferred
• Previous Forklift Certification preferred

Benefits

• Pay range: $18.10 - $21.60 per hour
• Work shift: Third Shift
