About the Role
CENTERS, LLC is a professional management firm specializing in facility, operation, and program management for higher education. Our approach is customized for each client while maintaining uniform quality. We unite site staff with a centralized administrative team to meet firm goals and client needs. The CENTERS team is innovative, entrepreneurial, trail-blazing, and ambitious. We provide management services for 14 clients and prioritize the well-being, security, and future of our employees.
Responsibilities
- Safely instruct an effective, creative group fitness class at the Recreation Center
- Provide quality customer service to all participants in class, regardless of fitness level, appearance, or otherwise
- Communicate effectively with supervisor through phone, email, or in person
- Enforce all program policies and procedures as they pertain to the class
- Enforce all building policies and procedures and assist as needed during emergencies
- Attend all Group Fitness and department staff meetings
- Other duties as required
Requirements
- Possess current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
- Hold ACE, AFAA, ACSM, or specialty certifications (e.g., yoga, group cycling, pilates) to teach specialty classes
- Primary group exercise certification and specialty certification preferred (exceptions considered case-by-case)
- Leadership and supervisory abilities
- Entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of standard practices in recreational sports
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to thrive in an environment valuing high expectations, accountability, and balanced lifestyles
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Office environment and fitness center environment
- Moderate to loud noise levels
- Evening or weekend work as required
- Standing or walking for at least 50% of the work day
- Occasional bending and stooping
- Frequent hearing and talking
