About the role

The Deli/Bakery Clerk plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and organized environment in the deli/bakery section of Fresh Thyme Markets. This position requires adherence to food service department procedures and a friendly, energetic demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures cleanliness of deli/bakery cases, storage area, and work area
  • Stocks deli/bakery cases, including presentation and organization of products
  • Examines and discards expired or spoiled products
  • Assists customers with inquiries and purchases
  • Receives, inspects, and logs products for accuracy
  • Maintains point of purchase signs and promotional materials
  • Prepares various deli/bakery items using appropriate ingredients and cooking times
  • Participates in pre-inventory preparation
  • Sustains high product knowledge and preparation skills
  • Walks department regularly to ensure cleanliness

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred 1-2 years grocery retail experience in Food Service department processes and procedures
  • Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus

Qualifications

  • Must maintain high levels of customer service
  • Ability to adapt to high-volume retail environments
  • Flexibility to work varied hours/days
  • Familiarity with Health Department guidelines and regulations
  • Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures
  • Skills working with food service equipment

Pay

The starting rate for this position is between $14.50 and $16.00 per hour, with raises based on Fresh Thyme Market policies.

Schedule

Varying hours/days as dictated by business needs.
