Responsibilities
- Provide on-shift supervision of and feedback to part-time staff on job performance and assign work
- Perform routine facility rounds throughout shift for supervision of student staff, troubleshooting and maintaining cleanliness of the equipment and facility
- Aid with set-ups and breakdowns for all facility reservations and events
- Respond to all medical and non-medical emergencies and provide care; initiate emergency action plan, notify university and local authorities and complete reports
- Assist part-time staff with tasks and assume responsibilities of an area if not staffed; process sales as needed
- Communicate and consistently enforce policies with patrons and staff
- Provide excellent customer service, facility tours, and resolve guest concerns
- Report injuries, incidents, member and guest issues, maintenance issues, and staff issues
- Prepare facility areas for programs and events
- Restock consumable supplies and amenities as needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous work experience preferred
- Experience working in fitness center, retail or events preferred
- Current CPR, First Aid, AED certification or ability to obtain
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to lead a team
- Make sound decisions
- Excellent communication skills including active listening
- Service-oriented and able to resolve customer grievances
- Basic knowledge of computer skills with the ability to learn new software
- Ability and willingness to enforce policies
